My Stuff:

Feministing
An online feminist community focused on sharing information and encouraging activism. It's a great, although biased, way to stay up to date on current feminist issues without being overwhelmed.

Kiva

A website that allows you to loan money to support an individual/group's business in a region of poverty. There's a return rate of over 99% and it's a great way to directly impact another's life in a positive way.

Songza

A website similar to Pandora that plays you music depending on the time of day and your current activity. You don't have to go through the music concierge, but that's how I find it most useful.

HPA

A great charity that takes examples of social issues from Harry Potter and works to improve them in the real world.

Thought Catalog

A collection of great thought-provoking, relate-able, and/or beautifully written articles. There's definitely something to interest everyone there.

YouTube Channels:

  • Sex+
Laci Green focuses on providing education about sex and issues surrounding it, many times based off of her experiences.
  • Sexplanations
Another sex education video series, this time with Dr. Lindsey Doe, who's a clinical sexologist and shares tons of information based on her extensive education and life experiences. Also she's super adorable and has huge doe eyes, ironically.
  • Vlogbrothers
The brothers John and Hank Green often summarize current event issues that make them easier to understand, but also do goofy and thought-provoking videos.
  • Healthcare Triage
A YouTube channel devoted to making healthcare more understandable to average people.
